Entrepreneurs from 14 international startup companies came together on Thursday, August 25 to kick off Soft Landing New York’s Fall 2022 cohort. During the virtual onboarding, attendees representing thirteen countries and four continents were introduced to the program’s support team and key strategic partners, which include Binghamton University’s Koffman Southern Tier Incubator, the Center for International Business Advancement and the Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, Cornell University.

Following this introduction, each member of the Fall 2022 cohort gave a brief presentation on their company’s product or service, audience, and goals for expansion into the U.S. market. A wide variety of industries were represented, from clean-tech to agriculture to luxury goods.

In the coming weeks, program participants will be paired with mentors at the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator as well as teams of students from the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. From there, a series of online workshops will provide information on the U.S. business environment. Bootcamps on customer discovery for the U.S. market and go-to-market strategies will provide hands-on advice for developing successful business operations in the United States.
